Sandbox Interactive joins Stillfront

7. January 2021 - written by dkp at 23:51 • 0 Comments
Dear Albion Community, As you might have read in the news, Sandbox Interactive will be joining Stillfront in January 2021. Stillfront consists of a family of game studios that largely work independently, while sharing knowledge and expertise between them to support each other. For the past eight years, we have been building Albion Online up completely on our own - everything from development, to marketing, translations, customer support has been built up by ourselves. Now that Albion is growing at a massive rate, we realize that being on our own is not always an advantage. There are just too many things we’d have to master, and while we believe no one can develop Albion Online better than we can, there are plenty of areas around the game itself where we could benefit from additional expertise. This is why we decided to join the Stillfront Family. The partnership with Stillfront allows us to remain fully invested in Albion Online and its development, focusing on making the best Sandbox MMORPG experience in the world, while benefiting from Stillfront’s expertise in marketing and publishing to spread the word of Albion Online around the world. For you, the players, this will mean more people to play with, more capacities for development of patches and updates, and simply more Albion Online as we continue to grow the game over the coming years. With this ending to 2020, we’re looking forward to a bright future for Albion Online in 2021 and beyond. Please let us know what questions you have about this in the comments below! Robin ‘Eltharyon’ Henkys, CEO & The Sandbox Interactive Founder Team Update: We've put together a little FAQ on the questions you've had about us joining Stillfront Group for visibility. Please click on the button below to view the options! FAQ How does Stillfront Group operate? Why did Sandbox Interactive join them? Stillfront Group itself only has a small number of people centrally. Their model is based on a hands-off approach where these they look for successful and well-run game studios to acquire and then let them continue what they do best while encouraging them to help each other out where it makes sense - in our case, that would be in marketing. See this interview with Stillfront's COO for some background on their approach. This is drastically different from how other companies / publishers handle games after they acquire them. We all know how this often turns out. And that's why we did reject offers from those types of companies. It was very important for us that we have the independence to continue to run the game as before - with exactly the same team and the same core philosophy. That's what made Albion successful in the past and will allow us to take the game even further in the future. // $(function() { $('.jsSpoilerBox').each(function(index, spoilerBox) { var $toggle = $(spoilerBox).removeClass('jsSpoilerBox').find('> header > .jsSpoilerToggle'); $toggle.click(function() { $toggle.toggleClass('active').parent().next().slideToggle({ complete: function() { var $container = $(this); if ($container.is(':visible')) { WCF.DOMNodeInsertedHandler.execute(); } if (!$toggle.data('hasCustomLabel')) { if ($container.is(':visible')) { $toggle.text('Spoiler ausblenden'); } else { $toggle.text('Spoiler anzeigen'); } } } }); }); }); }); //]]> Will there be any changes to the overall vision of the game? Will the dev team still have control over the game’s development? There are no plans whatsoever to change Albion Online's game design philosophy, road map or vision for the game. Sandbox Interactive's staff and management remain unchanged and all the founders of the company will fully stay on board. We will continue to work on the game exactly as we have done before and, as always, in close collaboration with the community. What happens to your business model? Will your stance on micro-transactions change? Will Albion Online transform into a Pay-To-Win game? There are no plans at all to change the underlying business model of the game - i.e. premium, gold (for premium or vanity) and vanity items. Our business model is extremely solid, works well and is accepted by the players. It will work just as well on mobile - in particular, given that Albion Online is a cross-platform game. On top of that, adding "p2w" elements to Albion Online would almost certainly make it less profitable as a business. It does not make business sense to alienate our player. Albion has always been built in close collaboration with the community and a lot of its success is ultimately based on that - having a fair and solid business model is part of that arrangement. There is absolutely no reason to change this.

Sandbox Interactive joins Stillfront

31. December 2020 - written by dkp at 18:05 • 0 Comments
[Android] XIGNCODE3 with Rise of Avalon Patch 11

22. December 2020 - written by dkp at 16:30 • 0 Comments
Hi everyone, With the release of Rise of Avalon Patch 11, we have implemented an additional anti-cheat program, XIGNCODE3, to the game for Android. XIGNCODE3 is a tool we are introducing to prevent players from using emulators, hacks, autoclickers and other macros, or anything that results in client manipulation. This works alongside our existing Easy Anti-Cheat software and dedicated bot investigation team to provide a better gameplay experience for legitimate Albion players. We are also continuously working on more solutions to identify and ban new tools that are against our Terms and Conditions and give players an unfair advantage over others. - Mytherceria & Dev Team

Sandbox Interactive joins Stillfront

[Android] XIGNCODE3 with Rise of Avalon Patch 11

17. December 2020 - written by dkp at 08:05 • 0 Comments

Guilds with Town Hall storage chests when the patch is deployed can retrieve their items from the City Bank "Recovery" tab in the same city. Siege Camps will be removed from the game. Items in their chests will move as follows: Outlands Siege Camps: these have been replaced with new Outlands Banks. Items can be recovered from these banks for free; creating a new usable tab requires the usual Silver fee.Royal Continent Siege Camps: items can be retrieved from the Recovery tab at the Bank of Caerleon.Crystal League Season Points / Daily Point Limits In Season 10, mid-level Crystal League matches gave too many Season Points, making it possible to dominate a season primarily via these matches. Season Points for these matches have been decreased for Season 11: Level 3: 25→ 15Level 4: 75→ 40Level 5: 200→ 100Level 6: 500→ 250Level 7: 1000→ 600Level 8: 2500→ 1600Additionally, there is now a daily limit for Season Points earned from the Crystal League. This limit makes it less desirable to accumulate elite Crystal League teams in one guild and instead creates an incentive for top teams to spread across various guilds. Daily limits vary based on which match types are available on a given dayDaily limits for 5v5 and 20v20 are independent and separate from each otherFor further details, see this post: forum.albiononline.com/index.php/Thread/139364 Smart Cluster Queue Changes When a cluster is overcrowded and the Smart Cluster Queue activates, players can now either join the queue or skip the overcrowded cluster entirely. Additionally, the distance players can move from the entrance before being kicked from the queue has been greatly increased, allowing queued armies to spread out further and avoid being ambushed by players leaving the main battle. Castle Scoring Changes Castle scoring now starts at 00:00 UTC regardless of a zone's prime timeCastles give Season Points every 6 hoursCastle Outposts give season points every 3 hoursCastle Chests appear on Saturdays at 12:00 and 18:00 UTC and Sundays at 00:00 UTCCastle Outpost Chests appear every 6 hoursSeason Point payouts have been scaled accordinglyWorld Boss and Raid Zone Changes Fame for all Elite mobs in World Boss Raid Zones, including World Bosses themselves, has been massively increasedWorld Bosses now spawn once per hour instead of once per dayOther elite mobs in Raid zones respawn approximately 30 minutes after being killedSeason Points from World Bosses have been adjusted accordingly: Tier 7: 40→ 12Tier 8: 50→ 15Defeating a major World Boss (Demon Prince, Earthmother, Harvester) now grants an hour-long buff that increases Fame for killing mobs within the same zone by 20%. Buff is limited to 20 allies and is lost upon dying, leaving the zone, or logging out.Castle Distance Changes Minimum travel distances between Castles in the Outlands have been increased by removing or changing various zone connections and passageways. Castles are now at least 4 zones apart, making it harder for one guild to defend numerous castles simultaneously. ----- For full details of these changes and the intentions behind them, please see this forum post: forum.albiononline.com/index.php/Thread/139364

[Android] XIGNCODE3 with Rise of Avalon Patch 11

14. December 2020 - written by dkp at 19:52 • 0 Comments

[RESOLVED] Smart Cluster Queue Buff (Update: December 10th)

10. December 2020 - written by dkp at 06:50 • 0 Comments
Update: With Rise of Avalon Patch 11, players teleported by the Smart Cluster Queue should no longer become invulnerable and invisible while still being able to attack. If you experience any further issues with this, please contact us immediately. Thank you! ________________ Hi everyone, We are aware of a bug that can cause players who get teleported when using the Smart Cluster Queue to obtain a temporary buff which allows them to be invulnerable to damage while still able to attack others in a cluster for around 2 minutes. This buff usually comes with a silence, however, in case of the bug, the silence is not working properly. We consider abusing this to be an exploit under clause 15.5.4 of our Terms and Conditions and those who abuse this will be sanctioned accordingly. If you see anyone abusing this from this post onwards, please file a report by writing to support@albiononline.com and provide any evidence you might have (video confirmation of the exploit and time stamp of when the video was taken). Note that if you are affected by this bug, you are not allowed to attack, harm, interfere with, heal or support other players until the invulnerability and invisibility has fully expired. Our developers are currently working on fixing this issue as soon as possible and we will continue to update you on it. - Mytherceria & Dev Team

Reminder: Rules on Multiple User Accounts

5. December 2020 - written by dkp at 08:50 • 0 Comments
Hi everyone, As we have a lot of new players joining the world of Albion, we think it’s a good chance to reiterate the rules regarding multiple User Accounts. Having multiple User Accounts is generally allowed with some rules, as defined in §11.2 of our Terms of Service: 11.2 Multiple registrations, as well as setting up and operating multiple User Accounts at our Services are allowed. However, if the User is playing the Game with multiple Characters at the same time, all of the following rules must be followed: i) the Characters may not interact or cooperate with each other if they are located outside of a city, hideout, personal island, or guild island, ii) the Characters may not engage in combat together, iii) the Characters may not act as scouts for each other, iv) the Characters must have active Premium status The use of multiple User Accounts outside of this ruleset is referred to as ‘Multi-accounting’ and is strictly prohibited. Some of examples of what you should NOT do are: Scouting the entrances of dungeons or clusters for the main account (Also referred to as ‘Alt-Scouting’)Engaging in PvP with both accounts in the open worldUsing an account as ‘bait’ Some examples of what you can do are: Using both characters on your Player Island to harvest your farmHave both characters gathering in different clusters, as long as they are not neighbouring clustersHave each character in a different city to look at market prices Players found participating in Multi-accounting will be penalized heavily. Should you come across such rule-breaking behavior, please reach out to our support team with any evidence you have. - Mytherceria & Support Team

Hi everyone, We hope you're enjoying trying out our brand new 20v20 Crystal League! As this is a new feature and in light of Invasion Day this weekend, we expect the Conquerors' Halls in Royal Cities to be rather crowded with players trying to sign up for the matches. Note: All 20 players in the same team need to be in the same cluster in order to trigger a successful sign-up. If the cluster is overcrowded and you cannot see your team members, it does not count them as being in the same cluster, and you will not be able to join the match. We are aware of the overcrowding issue and will work on improving it in the long run. However for now, we would need to do some crowd control in the Conquerors' Halls, and therefore urge players who are able to sign up for the 20v20 Crystal League matches from the Energy Manipulators at their Hideout to do so with their team. If your Hideout level is too low and you don't have an Energy Manipulator there to sign up from, here is how you can sign up for the matches in the Cities: You should already have your equipment stored in the City you wish to sign up from.Set your Hideout as Home.Use the Travel Planner in your Hideout to travel to the City where your gear is stored and where you want to sign up for the matches. After the matches, you can use the Travel Planner to head back to your Hideout. Note: If you use the portal at the City instead after the matches, you will lose your Hideout as Home binding. Thanks for your cooperation, adventurers! *salute* - Mytherceria & Dev Team

Reminder: Rules on Multiple User Accounts

1. December 2020 - written by dkp at 12:06 • 0 Comments

Details: Levels 1 and 2 20v20 tokens can be bought at the Energy Manipulator for 150,000 and 300,000 Silver respectivelyThe signup process and match schedule follow a similar pattern to the 5v5 LeagueHowever, matches will have the same ruleset and similar map layout to the former 20v20 city fightsCity Fights will no longer happen, and guilds will no longer be able to control cities.

484 accounts banned for third-party currency transactions

24. November 2020 - written by dkp at 12:35 • 0 Comments
Hi everyone, Today we have banned over 400 accounts for involvement in third-party currency transactions. This is expressly prohibited under our Terms and Conditions: 4.5.1 Users are prohibited from selling, purchasing, renting, leasing, offering, accepting, disseminating or copying Virtual Benefits, including Virtual Currency, within and/or outside the Game - in whatever form – to/from third parties unless expressly permitted by these Terms and Conditions or the Game Rules. [...] We would also like to inform you that the silver acquired from these sellers is fraudulently obtained. In most cases, the silver is purchased with Gold using stolen credit card or other payment information. As a result, once discovered, these payments are charged back - and we, as the merchant, are also hit with a chargeback fee. Purchasing from these third party sellers actively hurts SBI and the development of the game. In addition, we strongly believe in keeping a fair playing field and stable economy in the game, and therefore, we will continue to tackle this issue. If you suspect anyone of being involved in third-party currency transactions, please report them to our support team at support@albiononline.com with any evidence that you have. Please note that we do not publish the names of banned accounts due to data privacy reasons. - Mytherceria & Support Team
