Consequences for Exploiting the Fame-Distribution Bug

15. June 2022 - written by dkp at 21:46 • 0 Comments
Dear Players, As you might know, there was a bug regarding the distribution of Fame progress on the Destiny Board last Thursday, which was fixed with a Hotfix 4 hours after it went live. (link here: forum.albiononline.com/index.p…ribution-Bug-Consequences) Due to that, today at maintenance we have set back the Destiny Board for 500+ players who have heavily exploited this bug. This mainly includes players using a massive amount of Tomes of Insight, but also some crafters that created excessive numbers of items for affected nodes. During maintenance today, the Destiny Boards of these players were migrated back to the status at Thursday's downtime. This means that, for affected players, any Fame gained since Thursday has been lost. More specifically, affected players have their Destiny Board progress and Fame Credits reset to the state these were in at maintenance on Thursday 9 June. Any Learning Points spent since that point are reset. Learning Points earned since Thursday will still be retained. We would like to keep reminding players that we cannot tolerate the abuse of bugs. Exploiting this bug is considered a breach of our Terms & Conditions under section 15.5.4: Compelling reasons include for example (without limitation): If the User is engaged in cheating, use of bots, financial fraud or severe abuse of bugs. For that reason, any loss of progress, including the tomes or materials these players have spent in the process, is considered part of the punishment and will not be reimbursed. Sincerely, Nesnes & Dev Team

Hello all, Alongside Into the Fray we’re excited to announce the launch of our new weekly Twitch Drop campaigns. Starting June 8, players watching official Albion Online Content Creators on Twitch will be able to earn special rewards, such as permanent wardrobe and mount skins, or our new Victory Emote charges. Twitch Drops are an easy way to claim awesome loot just by watching streamers on Twitch. You can track your progress towards these rewards via the progress bar on your Twitch profile. Once you’ve earned rewards, you can claim them as long as you’ve linked your Albion Online and Twitch accounts. How to Link your Accounts In order to receive Twitch Drops and have them delivered you will need a Twitch account as well as an Albion Online account. Then simply: Go to albiononline.com/twitchMake sure you’re logged in with the Albion Online account you want to receive Twitch Drops onClick “LOGIN WITH TWITCH” to be redirected to TwitchMake sure you’re logged in to the Twitch account through which you want to redeem Twitch DropsClick “Authorize”You’ll then be redirected back to the official Albion Online websiteNow you’re all set and ready to receive Twitch Drops. How the Rewards are Delivered NOTE: After you've earned a Twitch Drop, it must first be claimed on Twitch, and will then be claimable ingame. Twitch Drops will come in the form of Community Chests. These are in-game items of different rarity levels containing permanent skin unlocks, Victory Emote charges and Community Tokens. Every chest can contain each type of item. Common Chests give you either a wardrobe unlock, 5 vanity kill charges or 5 Community Tokens.Rare Chests are guaranteed to give a skin unlock, plus either Vanity Kill Charges or Community Tokens.Epic Chests contain a Tier 5+ skin item plus another, randomly chosen skin item and up to 10 Vanity Kill charges or 10 Community Tokens.Legendary Chests not only guarantee a T5+ skin item but also an additional skin unlock item. Furthermore there is a chance for a third skin item, and up to 10 Victory Emote Charges or up to 10 Community Tokens. While you will never open an empty chest, there is a chance that you’ll receive an item you already have. In this case, you can salvage your unwanted item into Community Tokens (more on this below). Participating Streams Twitch Drop campaigns will be offered to specific content creators only. These include all members of the Albion Online Creators Program as well as other streamers affiliated with Albion Online. To find out which streams are offering Twitch Drops you can filter your search on Twitch for the Tag “Drops Enabled”. The Rewards Community chests offer a variety of rewards, such as Vanity Wardrobe and Mount skin unlocks, Victory Emote charges and Community Tokens: Skin unlock items will permanently give you a specific wardrobe or mount skin. They come in different tiers of increasing rarity, with each tier being five times more likely to be dropped than the next tier up. So T4 drops are five times more likely than T5, which are five times more likely than T6, and so on. While most skins are also purchasable with Gold, others will be exclusively available from Twitch Drops.Victory Emotes allow you to celebrate kills with cool audiovisual effects. You collect Victory Emote Charges, and then each kill will consume a charge and deploy a Victory Emote. Similar to skin items, Victory Emotes have different rarity levels.Community Tokens act as crafting ingredients for the other rewards. If you were hoping to open a certain reward, but find yourself out of luck, they allow you to craft the items you want instead.Any Twitch Drop reward can also be salvaged for its tokens. Salvaging can be done either at a Repair Station or an Artifact Foundry in one of Albion’s Cities. If one of your characters has an active premium subscription, Victory Emote charges from a premium chest will be tradable rather than salvageable. Crafting from Community Tokens is done at the Vanity Merchant in the Community tab. [RESOLVED] Hotfix coming up soon

13. June 2022 - written by dkp at 08:59 • 0 Comments
Hello everyone! We will need to deploy an off-schedule Hotfix at some point in the next 2 hours. This will include a Restart of the Server. You will get a 15 minute warning before that happens, but please make sure not to start any activities in that timeframe that might be affected by the Server Restart. The Hotfix will be deployed at 14:20 And because there has been some misinformation going around: We are not rolling back any progress, and we are not resetting any stats with this hotfix. However, we reserve the right to deal with bug abuses on a case-by-case basis if we find them happening. We are sorry for the inconvenience! The Server is back up and the issues have been resolved! Thank you for your patience!

Fame Distribution Bug & Consequences

13. June 2022 - written by dkp at 08:12 • 0 Comments
Dear players, As many of you have noticed, a bug on June 9th caused Fame to be distributed over several nodes instead of just a single node on the Destiny Board. This bug affected Combat Fame as well as Crafting Fame. The bug has been fixed with Hotfix 2, however, prior to this fix, there were a number of players attempting to abuse this bug to gain a lot more Fame than they should have gotten in a short period of time. Specifically: players tried to exploit the opportunity to use massive numbers of Tomes of Insight to level up multiple nodes on the combat trees at once. We would like to remind players that abusing a bug of this scale falls under section 15.5.4 of our ToS: Compelling reasons include for example (without limitation): If the User is engaged in cheating, use of bots, financial fraud or severe abuse of bugs. Of course, we are aware that not all players abused this bug purposefully, as gaining Fame is a normal part of gameplay. So as long as you stayed at your normal day-to-day gameplay value, you have nothing to worry about. For other players, we will take appropriate steps to mitigate the unreasonable benefits gained from exploiting this bug in the coming days. Sincerely, Nesnes & Dev Team

Fame Distribution Bug & Consequences

11. June 2022 - written by dkp at 20:36 • 0 Comments
Fame Distribution Bug & Consequences

10. June 2022 - written by dkp at 16:20 • 0 Comments

[RESOLVED] Hotfix coming up soon

10. June 2022 - written by dkp at 09:17 • 0 Comments

Twitch Drops: What They Are and How They Work

10. June 2022 - written by dkp at 03:14 • 0 Comments
How the Rewards are Delivered Twitch Drops will come in the form of Community Chests. The Weekly Drops forum.albiononline.com/index.p…7a527d74a72905c2da63f5089 Drop 1: Common Chest after 15 minutesDrop 2: Rare Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 3: Common Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 4: Epic Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 5: Common Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 6: Common Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 7: Legendary Chest after 4 additional hoursIn total, each week you can receive up to 4 Common and one of each of Rare, Epic and Legendary Community chests with a total watch time of 24 hours and 15 minutes. Season 16 Schedule and Changes

Season 16 Schedule and Changes Guild Season 16 kicks off on Saturday, June 11th. Read on for all the details! Contents: Important DatesWhat's New This SeasonDetailed Season Schedule1. Important Dates 11.06.2022 (Saturday): Season starts, Invasion Day #1, all Territories Reset12.06.2022 (Sunday): Scoring starts (by time zone)13.06.2022 (Monday): Territory Battles Start09.07.2022 (Saturday): Invasion Day #2 - Energy/Season Point Storage Payout, all Territories Reset06.08.2022 (Saturday): Invasion Day #3 - Energy/Season Point Storage Payout, all Territories Reset, Territory scoring doubles, Might and Favor for killing Siphoning Mages doubles03.09.2022 (Saturday): Scoring of Territories Ends, Energy/Season Point Storage Payout04.09.2022 (Sunday): Final 5v5 Crystal League Matches05.09.2022 (Monday): Season Ends at 9:59 UTC, Offseason period begins2. What's New This Season For the full list of Season 16 changes, including Crystal League schedules and all Castle/Outpost changes, see this forum post: Changes for Guild Season 16 Castle / Castle Outpost Overhaul For Season 16 we overhauled Castles completely, and vastly improved the Castle visuals in two entirely new layouts. Castles and Outposts no longer generate passive Season PointsInstead, opening Castle and Outpost chests grants Might to all players from the guild in proximity to the objectiveCastles and Outposts also have a new Might Level in the Conqueror’s Challenge, which is how they now generate Season PointsCastles now spawn high value chests throughout the entire week: Every 3 hours, every Castle and Castle Outpost has a chance to spawn a chest. This chest has a random value, which is broadcast globally one hour before it can be opened. Since all these spawns still stay synchronized, the largest power blocks can’t contest all chests without splitting up, which also allows mid-sized guilds to contest these objectives. Additionally, we also modernized Castle fight mechanics. For example, the demolition hammer can now be used without pre-equipping it, like a gathering tool. Crystal League Changes / New Crystal Arena Competitive 5v5 battles have always been an important endgame feature in Albion Online, and the 5v5 Crystal League is intended to offer this playstyle. However, in its current form it has been too difficult to get new players into this content. To introduce more players to this exciting game mode we are adding the new Crystal Arena with our Into The Fray Update. And once new Crystal teams form in the Crystal Arena, they can now start playing in the new 5v5 non-lethal Crystal League. This is an entire Crystal League added which only has non-lethal matches, but also the full 9 level experience. This should make the process of getting new teams into the Crystal League much smoother and increase overall participation. Non-Lethal 5v5 Crystal League Added A knockdown-rules 5v5 Crystal League now runs alongside the full-loot League: Uses current Crystal League system but changes all matches to knockdown rulesRewards are reduced from the full-loot League, but still sufficiently reward progressSeason Point cap is shared with full-loot LeaguePlayers can qualify for the Crystal League Championship through the non-lethal LeagueMatches happen at different times than the full-loot League, allowing participation in bothGeneral 5v5 Crystal League Changes (apply to both Lethal and Non-Lethal modes) 5v5 Crystal Realm map adjusted: East and west capture points moved slightly northwardsObjects added to map for additional choke points and structureNew mechanic added to 5v5 matches, Double Healer Penalty: Teams with two healing Staffs get an additional healing reduction debuff, even if the two healers are not healing the same targetPenalty applies in all 5v5 matches, including Arena and Crystal ArenaOnly Level 1 Tokens can be bought from the Energy Manipulator, Level 4+ Tokens are untradeable20v20 Crystal League Changes Match Adjustments: Base Respawn time: 10s → 15sRunestone Channel Time: 10s → 7.5sPoints per Death: 2 → 3The goal of these changes is to make matches more accessible. Shorter channeling of Runestones makes them easier to claim, while higher Respawn times and points per death reduce the number of deaths per match, reducing gear costs. Additionally, this makes mass strategies, like sacrificing numerous players to secure Runestones in non-full loot matches, less successful. 20v20 matches are now scheduled across fewer time slots, with more teams playing simultaneously, to reduce no-showsNew Crystal League Skin A new Crystal Gladiator Wardrobe Skin can be won in all Crystal League matches: Wardrobe pieces are non-tradeable and consists of 4 pieces: Helmet, Armor, Shoes and CapeWinner chests have a rare chance of dropping pieces – the higher the level, the higher the rate. (With a 0% drop chance in daily matches)Might Level Adjustments We additionally made it easier to progress in certain Might Levels, where guilds hadn't progressed as much as we would have liked. Corrupted Dungeons: Might Level Requirement per Level: 6,000 → 4,000Crystal Spiders: Might for first Level: 30,000 → 20,000Season Points - First Level: 30 → 20Might Increase per Level: 45,000 → 30,000Season Point Increase per level: 15 → 10Outland Treasures: Might for first Level: 30,000 → 20,000Season - First Level: 30 → 20Might Increase per level: 45,000 → 30,0003. Requirements for Headquarters are being updated

28. May 2022 - written by dkp at 23:33 • 0 Comments
Hello, busy Season Point collectors! There is some good news concerning the requirements for HQ qualification. The following will apply With Patch 1 of the Lands Awakened Update (Patch 1 will go live approximately 2-3 weeks after the Launch of the actual Lands Awakened Update, specifics will be announced as we approach that date more closely): With this Patch there will be two major changes to the Headquarters qualification requirements: The Top 600 Season rank requirement is removedA Headquarters can now be declared immediately after the necessary Season Point requirement has been reachedThat means that there are now two ways to qualify for HQ placements rights: Your guild qualifies for HQ placement rights in the current Season by achieving the required Season points level in the previous Guild Season. That means that guilds who earned their HQ placement rights during the Energy Surge Season can place down their HQs right away at the start of the next Season.NEW: your guild can also qualify for HQ placement rights in the current Season by achieving the required Season points level in the current Season. That means that once you hit the required points, you can turn a Hideout into an HQ right away, without having to wait for the following Season to start. The key impact of these changes is that guilds that are active can now progress and be rewarded during a Season that’s already running. There is no change to Hideout boosters. Those will still only be awarded at the end of a Season and can then be used in the following one. You cannot earn a Hideout Booster while a Season is already running. This also means that the key benefit of the Hideout Booster - allowing for almost instant HQ placement - cannot be earned during a Season. If you have questions regarding this topic, please go ahead and ask for clarification in this thread.
