Guild Season Wrapup: 19 West / 1 East

6. June 2023 - written by dkp at 11:46 • 0 Comments
The dust has settled on another Guild Season - and for the first time in Albion's history, this one played out as two dual full seasons on Albion's two servers. Congrats to Albion West winners Paura and Albion East winners Fr Bailand! Read on for a summary of how these seasons unfolded on each server, and see the top-ten ranking for each at the end of this article. (Thanks to @Robinhoodrs for the season summaries below.) Albion West: Newcomers Take the Crown As Season 19 started out, not much had changed from the end of Season 18. The wars that engulfed the Outlands were still raging as IXXXI coalition battled the TERRA coalition in the south. Paura declared they would claim the number-one spot in Season 19, and with this being their last season, they also wanted to break the record held by Blue Army for most season points gained. This required a push from them in all content from the 5v5 and 20v20 Crystal Leagues, to Castle warfare and Territory battles. Though at the start there was a battle for the number one spot as Overseas Chinese Headquarters were also pushing, with a close race between the two until a month into the Season, eventually OCH bowed out and ceded the top spot. As Season 19 came to an end, wars of many seasons were still raging, guilds diisbanded and alliances crumbled, but as always, new guilds and alliances have been forming for the start of Albion's next season. Albion East: The First Full Season The Albion East Beta Season ran from February 20 to March 13, allowing guilds with beta access to compete in a unique shorter season. Ultimately, SIAM proved their might, besting all other guilds in a three-week race to the top. With the full launch of Albion East, the first (nearly) full-length season was underway. With the start of a whole new server came whole new guilds and alliances and the battles for control of the Outlands in Albion Online. With wars popping up all over the Outlands, there was one guild that was quietly tucked away, slowly building their guild economy and growing their forces for battle: Fr Bailand. Holding onto the Old White spawns for the mammoth cub market, they were able to be the first guild to have a Command Mammoth on the battlefield, albeit the first to have two fall in battle as well. As wars raged around them, they focused on their goal: the first post-beta season title on Albion East. And so they massed for Castles, raided mages, and battled it out in the Crystal League. It wasn't all smooth sailing, as backstabbing and betrayal took place between the other high-ranking guilds, leading into a potential all-out war going into Season 2. Check out last weekend's East War Report on AlbionTV here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1836629582?t=00h34m16 Looking Ahead & Top Tens Next up this weekend is the Crystal League Championship, with one day each for Albion East (on June 10 and Albion West (on June 11). Albion's high-stakes Crystal League competition is coming on both Albion East and West! GENERAL INFO & TIMELINE The Championship will take place in the offseason. This time the CLC will be different from previous seasons, with two tournaments taking place over the weekend. EAST server CLC Saturday, June 10th: 10:00 UTC - 15:00 UTC WEST server CLC Sunday, June 11th: 17 UTC - 22:00 UTC The above end times are approximate, depending on how long matches go on.Battles will be Non-Lethal AND hard-capped at 1800 IP. Players will have to bring their own gear.Matches will run through the in-game scrim UI. Specific times will be provided to the participants prior to each match.Teams should be prepared to play matches back-to-back if required.Teams will be playing in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches (BO3).Timeline: Qualifying teams will be announced on Monday, June 5thOnce teams have been announced, they must send the following information to @Emii within 24h 1. Team name2. Name of designated substitute3. Name of designated Team Captain4. Exact names of every team member5. Team logo (via one of the two following methods) forum.albiononline.com/index.p…8f8c08b83c78f61f983a0165bTeams can choose a logo of their own using the in-game guild logo creation tools. (Please send a screenshot of the logo design selectors as seen on the right)Changes to substitutes can be made up to 72 hours (three days) before the Championship starts. No further changes are allowed after that. We will select 8 teams to participate in the Championship for each server, which means 4 teams from the Lethal league, and 4 teams from the Non-lethal. We believe that it is not fair for teams to qualify for the CLC by only playing during the last week and winning a single level 9 match, over those that have actively played throughout the whole season. With that in mind, we have created a points system that will hopefully give everyone an equal chance of qualifying. Furthermore, no-shows will count the same as full wins within this system. Level 5 = 5 pointsLevel 6 = 10 pointsLevel 7 = 20 pointsLevel 8 = 40 pointsLevel 9 = 80 pointsIn addition: Wins will be counted based on teams with at least 4 consistent characters.Players cannot switch teams and try to qualify for the Championship with multiple teams.Players cannot qualify for both the East and West server CLC.RULES General rules Each team must assign a Captain to be the main point of contact between the Championship organizers, Game Masters, and the team. Each team can allocate one substitute in addition to the five team members for the entire ChampionshipAll matches must be initiated via the Private Island located in Fort SterlingTeams should only sign up for the match slots to which they have been assigned by the Championship organizers and/or Game Masters.Use of exploits and/or glitches is not allowed in the Championship. Each team must act in the spirit of sportsmanship and work towards its own victory in all matches; if anyone is suspected of violating this (for instance, by colluding and/or intentionally not competing) they will be penalizedEach team must send in their respective information at the required time. If the team fails to do so, they may be disqualified from the tournament and replaced with a substitute team.Rules for qualification A Player counts as "qualified" if the following criteria are met: The player must use the same account that played in the qualifying Season 19 (West) / Season 1 (East) Crystal League matches. The player can only qualify for the tournament once through either the Lethal or Non-lethal format. The participating account has won at least two level 5 matches or a single level 6+ match in either the Lethal or Non-lethal 5v5 crystals in the current or previous season.Participating with two or more characters that belong to the same player is prohibited – this also includes joining other participating teams via a different character.A team counts as qualified if the following criteria are met: The team consists of five qualified players, at least three of whom must have qualified with the same team during Season 19The team has handed in their team info at the required date and timeThe team is not using a Name, Icon, Character names, Guild names, or Alliance names that would go against Albion's Terms and ConditionsRules for Matches and Breaks Each team must be ready to start the match at the time that is given to them by the Game Master or Championship OrganizerNatural Breaks between matches will always be at least 5 minutes, however, the actual time of the match will be given by the respective GM responsible for the teamIf a team needs to take more time between matches, they may request it, however, this will only be granted two times to each team during the championshipA requested longer break may under no circumstances exceed a limit of 15 minutes. If a sign-up fails due to the members not being signed up, it will count toward the limit of two extended breaks. Exceptions to this rule can be made at the discretion of the championship organizer under special circumstances. If a team exceeds the maximum amount of 15 minutes, does not respond to their GM in time, or has exceeded their limit of two sign-up fails, the match will be forfeited, giving one win to the opposing team. All rules are subject to the discretion of the championship organizer. Under special circumstances exceptions may be made, but teams are not entitled to them.Substitute rules The substitute can be used in all matches. If a team decides to use its substitute in a match, the Captain should indicate this to the Game Master they are allocated to prior to the specific match.Substitutes for the winning teams will be awarded the same prizes as their team members.Changes to substitutes can be made up to 72 hours (three days) before the Championship starts. No further changes, for any reason, are allowed after that.A team loses their option for a substitute when two out of five players from their qualified roster need to be replaced. All decisions are final. The penalties may include, but are not limited to: Suspension from one or more matchesSuspension from the remainder of the Championship and/or future tournamentsSuspension of the entire team from one or more matchesSuspension of the entire team from the remainder of the Championship and/or future tournamentsMatches can be voided or declared a different result by the Championship organizersPRIZES The following prizes apply for the first- through fourth-place winners: First Place: Each player on the winning team will receive the extremely rare Sabertooth Rex Swiftclaw skin unlock item and 10,000 GoldSecond Place: Each player will receive the Recruiter's Giant Frog item along with 5,000 GoldThird Place: Each player will receive the Sheep dog skin unlock item along with 5,000 GoldFourth Place: Each player will receive the Sand Salamander unlock item along with 5,000 Gold

Hello all, Alongside Into the Fray we’re excited to announce the launch of our new weekly Twitch Drop campaigns. Starting June 8, players watching official Albion Online Content Creators on Twitch will be able to earn special rewards, such as permanent wardrobe and mount skins, or our new Victory Emote charges. Twitch Drops are an easy way to claim awesome loot just by watching streamers on Twitch. You can track your progress towards these rewards via the progress bar on your Twitch profile. Once you’ve earned rewards, you can claim them as long as you’ve linked your Albion Online and Twitch accounts. How to Link your Accounts In order to receive Twitch Drops and have them delivered you will need a Twitch account as well as an Albion Online account. Then simply: Go to albiononline.com/twitchMake sure you’re logged in with the Albion Online account you want to receive Twitch Drops onClick “LOGIN WITH TWITCH” to be redirected to TwitchMake sure you’re logged in to the Twitch account through which you want to redeem Twitch DropsClick “Authorize”You’ll then be redirected back to the official Albion Online websiteNow you’re all set and ready to receive Twitch Drops. How the Rewards are Delivered NOTE: After you've earned a Twitch Drop, it must first be claimed on Twitch, and will then be claimable ingame. Any drops that have been claimed on Twitch are then claimable ingame for 60 days. Twitch Drops will come in the form of Community Chests. These are in-game items of different rarity levels containing permanent skin unlocks, Victory Emote charges and Community Tokens. Every chest can contain each type of item. Common Chests give you either a wardrobe unlock, 5 vanity kill charges or 5 Community Tokens.Rare Chests are guaranteed to give a skin unlock, plus either Vanity Kill Charges or Community Tokens.Epic Chests contain a Tier 5+ skin item plus another, randomly chosen skin item and up to 10 Vanity Kill charges or 10 Community Tokens.Legendary Chests not only guarantee a T5+ skin item but also an additional skin unlock item. Furthermore there is a chance for a third skin item, and up to 10 Victory Emote Charges or up to 10 Community Tokens. While you will never open an empty chest, there is a chance that you’ll receive an item you already have. In this case, you can salvage your unwanted item into Community Tokens (more on this below). Participating Streams Twitch Drop campaigns will be offered to specific content creators only. Updated 7 February 2023: Twitch Drops are now available to all Albion Online streamers. So T4 drops are five times more likely than T5, which are five times more likely than T6, and so on. While most skins are also purchasable with Gold, others will be exclusively available from Twitch Drops.Victory Emotes allow you to celebrate kills with cool audiovisual effects. You collect Victory Emote Charges, and then each kill will consume a charge and deploy a Victory Emote. Similar to skin items, Victory Emotes have different rarity levels.Community Tokens act as crafting ingredients for the other rewards. If you were hoping to open a certain reward, but find yourself out of luck, they allow you to craft the items you want instead.Any Twitch Drop reward can also be salvaged for its tokens. Salvaging can be done either at a Repair Station or an Artifact Foundry in one of Albion’s Cities. These include all members of the Albion Online Creators Program as well as many other streamers - to find out which streams are offering Twitch Drops, you can filter your search on Twitch for the Tag “Drops Enabled”. The Rewards Community chests offer a variety of rewards, such as Vanity Wardrobe and Mount skin unlocks, Victory Emote charges and Community Tokens: Skin unlock items will permanently give you a specific wardrobe or mount skin. They come in different tiers of increasing rarity, with each tier being five times more likely to be dropped than the next tier up. If one of your characters has an active premium subscription, they will receive one additional tradable (non-salvagable) Victory Emote charge in a chest. Crafting from Community Tokens is done at the Vanity Merchant in the Community tab. The Knightfall Abbey Theme is Available to Stream Now

19. May 2023 - written by dkp at 10:23 • 0 Comments
One of the standout features of the recent Knightfall patch was an all-new dungeon in the Mists - Knightfall Abbey. Along with beautiful visuals and new gameplay, it also features a stunning new theme song which is now available on all major streaming platforms. The track was composed by Albion’s longtime Senior Audio Designer Marie Havemann, who described the ideas behind it: “The Undead roaming Knightfall Abbey were once humans who lived there, cursed by Merlin's ritual to remain forever trapped, unable to uphold the knightly virtues they once held dear. With the music, we wanted to capture both this tragedy and the feeling of longing that comes with striving for a virtuous life. At the same time, it was important for us to convey a sense of unity among the people who believed in those virtues as well as their flawed nature. To reflect this unified yearning through sound, we combined choir with orchestral instruments and focused on strong melodies. The music alternates between moments of hope and despair, as the Undead could never complete their journey and are trapped in time in Knightfall Abbey, covered in thick layers of dust. The transitions between exploration and combat are fluid, with the musical identity of the place always palpable.” Listen to the new piece here, and listen to the rest of Albion Online’s soundtrack here. Download the Knightfall Wallpaper There’s been a new addition to the ever-growing collection of Albion Online Wallpapers, and now you can download the official Knightfall artwork in 4K format. Albion’s warriors have discovered Knightfall Abbey, and are exploring its depths. Traces of the legendary Arthurian knights remain, with their treasured virtues of Justice, Valor, and Compassion. But elsewhere in Albion, the antithesis of knightly virtue reigns supreme. In the darkness, cultists summon unspeakable horrors to do their bidding. A new vanity set launches next week, bringing forth the darker side of Albion's history. Stay tuned for more…

Twitch Drops: What They Are and How They Work

8. May 2023 - written by dkp at 07:25 • 0 Comments
If one of your characters has an active premium subscription, they will receive one additional tradable (non-salvagable) Victory Emote charge in a chest. Crafting from Community Tokens is done at the Vanity Merchant in the Community tab. It’s been a little over one and a half months since the full launch of Albion East, and that time has flown by! Player numbers in Albion have soared, and show no sign of waning. With that in mind, we thought it would be interesting to take a fresh look at the stats for Albion East that we shared after the first 14 days and put them together into a new handy infographic for you: forum.albiononline.com/index.p…71aea16d445de015fc41eb3a5 As you can see, things are thriving on the new server, and in fact it’s only gotten busier since we last looked! It’s fantastic to see such a committed community of players old and new populating this server and building it from the ground up. In the meantime, check out our latest Dev Talk on the upcoming Knightfall content patch for a taste of what’s coming to Albion next.

Twitch Drops: What They Are and How They Work

19. April 2023 - written by dkp at 06:42 • 0 Comments
If one of your characters has an active premium subscription, they will receive one additional tradable (non-salvagable) Victory Emote charge in a chest. Crafting from Community Tokens is done at the Vanity Merchant in the Community tab. Albion Online Breaks All-Time Player Record

12. April 2023 - written by dkp at 11:37 • 0 Comments
After a successful Closed Beta and Early Access period, Albion's new server, Albion East, launched for all players worldwide on March 20. That day, the surge of new players reached 277,000 total active users, a new all-time record for the game. And just over a week later, on Sunday, April 2, that record was smashed when the servers had a combined total of over 300,000 active users! (Note: for the purposes of this chart, "users" refers to active accounts.) During these record-breaking windows, active Steam users also reached their highest-ever numbers for the game, with a new all-time peak of 25,833 concurrent players on Steam alone, which is just a fraction of Albion's overall player numbers. The previous record of 271,000 daily active users was set in June 2021, after the official mobile launch of the game. The recent launch of Albion East achieved this milestone without introducing a new platform, and represents a strong start for the game's new two-server system. Thanks to you all for making the Albion East launch such a success and for making Albion the thriving world that it is. See you ingame!

Twitch Drops: What They Are and How They Work

5. April 2023 - written by dkp at 10:45 • 0 Comments
If one of your characters has an active premium subscription, they will receive one additional tradable (non-salvagable) Victory Emote charge in a chest. Crafting from Community Tokens is done at the Vanity Merchant in the Community tab. The Weekly Drops forum.albiononline.com/index.p…2be099ed0f0d22e2b37d7abfb Drop 1: Common Chest after 15 minutesDrop 2: Rare Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 3: Common Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 4: Epic Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 5: Common Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 6: Common Chest after 4 additional hoursDrop 7: Legendary Chest after 4 additional hoursIn total, each week you can receive up to 4 Common and one of each of Rare, Epic and Legendary Community chests with a total watch time of 24 hours and 15 minutes. This campaign restarts every week, allowing you to earn these drops again. Frequently Asked Questions: How do I find out which Twitch account is linked to my Albion account? On your profile page you’ll find a new label called “Twitch Account” which will tell you whether your Albion account is currently linked to a Twitch account along with that account’s name. How do I unlink my account? If your Albion account is linked with the wrong Twitch account, you can unlink your accounts. This can be done on the Twitch account settings page under the Connections tab. This page is also linked in your Albion Online profile page. There you can click “Disconnect” on the “Albion Online Drops” Connection. Is it enough that my Steam account is linked to my Twitch account? No. You will have to link your Albion account with your Twitch account. Will Twitch Drops also be available for streamers not in the AOCP? 2021: Albion's Year in Review

3. April 2023 - written by dkp at 05:25 • 0 Comments
While 2021 may not have brought quite the same level of unprecedented upheavals as 2020, it was nonetheless a year of various challenges. For the Albion Online team, it meant another year of developing the game in an almost entirely remote capacity, during which it saw two massive content updates, the long-anticipated mobile launch, and exploding player numbers. Throughout it all, the Albion community was as supportive as ever, and with the continued engagement of veteran players, combined with ever-increasing new player numbers, the game had its biggest year yet. If one of your characters has an active premium subscription, they will receive one additional tradable (non-salvagable) Victory Emote charge in a chest. Crafting from Community Tokens is done at the Vanity Merchant in the Community tab.
